We’re so glad you’ve stopped by for a virtual visit! And if you’re ever in the area, we warmly invite you to join us in person for one of our services.
St Paul’s Lutheran Church was established in 1859, becoming the first Lutheran congregation on the Darling Downs. The current church building—the third on this historic site—was completed in 1959.
One of its most striking features is the great northern window, a bold and imaginative use of stained glass that fills the sanctuary with colour and light.
We gather for Divine Service with Holy Communion every Sunday at 8:30am.
Worship is, quite literally, heaven on earth. In worship, the Triune God is present with His people in a special and public way. He calls us into His presence to receive His grace and to share in His holiness through the work of the Holy Spirit, in the means of grace—God’s gifts to us in Word and Sacrament.
Worship is also a place of rest—a time to simply be with God, away from the noise and busyness of everyday life. It’s where we can lay down our burdens, cease from our striving, and allow God to do His work in us. Here, we find rest for our bodies, minds, hearts, and souls.
At St Paul’s, our worship is enriched by a variety of liturgies and musical styles. We are blessed with gifted vocalists and musicians, supported by instruments such as the pipe organ, electronic organ, and a music group—all working together to lift our praises to God.
In keeping with the tradition of many historic mainline churches, Lutheran worship is both sacramental and liturgical. The focus of our services is God’s action among His people—through the Holy Scriptures and the Holy Sacraments. It is in worship that we encounter a loving and forgiving God, who welcomes all without exception.
Our church is also available for life’s significant moments, including weddings, baptisms, and funerals. Above all, know that you are welcome here—because God’s invitation is for everyone.
Did you know that St Paul's has a hall available for hire, complete with kitchen facilities?
It is available on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
If you're interested, call 07 4632 1185 — we’d love to help!
A small team of volunteers also runs 'Comforting Cuppa', a service that can be requested for funerals.
Our hall and facilities support a range of community Outreach programs such as Disco, Menshed and Tony’s Kitchen as part of our commitment to serving the wider community.
